Tweet Tweet!

If you haven't heard of Twitter you will! Twitter is a social networking site that is basically an instant messaging system that you can access online or on your cell phone. When you send someone a message it is called a "tweet", (hence the title of this blog).

You can tweet about anything; your bad break up, the awesome goal your team just made, your anger over a new law, or a random thought. I recently set up an Twitter account for Washington Drug Rehab called the RiverSourceLink, on which I post daily inspirational messages to help people stay focused on their recovery. People who have Twitter accounts can connect to my account and read my tweets by opting to 'Follow' me. Likewise, I get to read the messages of the people I 'Follow'. The cool thing about Twitter is that almost everybody is doing it. :) I am following Obama and Michelle, Time Magazine, Oprah, my nephews, random people that make me laugh, and everyone in between! On a serious note, a lot of people start using drugs and continue using drugs because it is a way for them to feel a sense of connection with other people. Being connected to others is one of our basic human needs, and there are positive and negative ways for us to fulfill that need. As strange as it seems, Twitter really is a fun safe way to start expressing yourself and connect with others. On Twitter you can vent, share your passions, learn new things, promote your business, stalk your favorite celebrity, or even get a little help staying connected to your Source!
